DOGE's Fatal Flaw

DOGE's founder, Elon Musk, has achieved success in a number of businesses, but success in business does not guarantee success in other fields. To quote one of his favorite authors, Robert A. Heinlein: "Expertise in one field does not carry over into other fields. But experts often think so. The narrower their field of knowledge the more likely they are to think so." (Heinlein, 1995). Elon Musk should be more self-aware.

Elon Musk, and the minions he hires, appear to suffer from the Dunning-Kruger effect:  The Dunning-Kruger effect "is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills." (Psychology Today, n.d.). Essentially, fools are blind to their own foolishness. Elon Musk is a fool, and the American people are paying the price for his foolishness.

Elon Musk's arrogance was on full display in a March 27, 2025 interview with Bret Baier on Fox News. Despite a very DOGE-friendly line of questioning from Baier, Musk displayed flashes of a deep and persistent rage during the interview. At one point, he referred to individuals who dare to criticize his work as "the real villains," labeling their criticism "propaganda". Rather ironic coming from a "champion of free speech" is it not? Of greater concern, Musk went on to state his intention to "go after" these individuals. The interview deteriorated further after Musk became annoyed with background noise and the next line of questioning from Baier. When Baier suggested perhaps it was unwise to label Senator Mark Kelly a "traitor" for his support of Ukraine, Musk's displayed a seething rage as he reiterated a view that anyone supporting Ukraine is a "traitor". Elon Musk is a very angry man with virtually unlimited resources.  Beware America - Elon Musk is coming for you.
